GAF Roofing has been around for many decades because its foundation is built on trust. The company also has great pillars for success; one of the key pillars is the Sustainability Promise.

GAF Products Are Recycled

GAF’s recycling process is like no other because it’s a patented program called GAF RoofCycle. This program was created to divert waste from landfills. Although there is no way to stop the buildup of waste, GAF’s program is making a difference. The company plans to use approximately 90 percent of waste during the manufacturing process to make brand-new shingles.

Reduced Waste

When waste is processed by GAF, various steps are taken. During phase one, the waste is prepared to be recycled; then, in phase two, the materials are carefully grinded. After phase two is complete, the materials can be used a second time after they are certified by GreenCircle. The certification process does not apply to all products by GAF; only PVC products and EverGuard products are made from recycled materials and certified.

The GAF Energy Initiative

There are many factors that make up GAF’s energy initiative, but one of the highlights is the company’s solar line called Timberline Solar. Diving into the world of Timberline Solar products is easy because the installation is similar to a traditional roof. What’s great about Timberline Solar is that everything is sleek and uniform. There are no bulky solar panels to deal with as the entire system only consists of green, efficient-energy shingles.

Overall, a Solar Timberline roof is a smart investment because it’s a clean, waterproof energy system. You can’t beat the value; after it’s installed, it will pay for itself over and over again.
