There are plenty of roofing problems your home could experience. Some of the most common ones include loose or missing shingles, weather damage, and/or leaks. If you have a GAF roofing system, it comes with the excellent customer service of a GAF certified roofing contractor.
Fixing These Common Problems
It is highly unusual for a GAF roof to experience the most common problems that plague other roofs. However, if your GAF roof does experience any leaks, weather damage, or missing shingles, you should call the contractor that installed the roof. According to GAF, their contractors are required to examine any reported problems by customers that have had a GAF certified contractor install a roof.
Sometimes it’s just an issue with materials. At other times it might be an error in how something was installed, although that’s not supposed to happen because of the strict training requirements GAF has for certifying its contractors. At any rate, GAF requires that issues like these with their roofs be repaired immediately.
Filing Warranty Claims
When you buy a GAF roof, it comes with a warranty. There are many different levels of warranties offered by GAF. When you notice a potential problem with the roof and you contact the GAF certified contractor that installed it, the contractor can file a claim for the warranty if and when applicable. Once approved, GAF pays for the repairs and the contractor can begin the work.
When You Don’t Have a GAF Roof
If you don’t have a GAF roof, there’s not much a GAF certified contractor can do for you. While the contractor can still help you with repairs, you are essentially on your own to pay for the work performed. You don’t have the warranty or the guarantee of work completed. If you would like to change that, ask a GAF certified contractor to install a new roof for you.
